New Ireland Settlement
Mr. Paul Lewis' AP US History classes are working on a research project involving the settlement of New Ireland (Carrolton/Carrollton) which was located in Cattaraugus County near the present day town of
Limestone, New York. Any information that would be pertinent to this website would be welcomed as Mr. Lewis is still trying to compile a more accurate history of the site. Much of the data that has been gathered is from multiple sources. Utilizing personal interviews, historical references, e-mail, listservs, and the World Wide Web, the students attempted to write a chronicle of events about the first Irish immigrants who started this small settlement to its last residents. If you have any information, data or photos that would enhance the history please contact Mr.Lewis at plewis@buffnet.net
