Preserving the history of Allegany State Park since 1995
We meet on the third Saturday of each month at 1:00pm, typically at locations within Allegany State Park. Each meeting features a program, presentation, tour, or hands-on activity related to the park’s natural, cultural, or social history. Topics range from local history and preservation efforts to behind-the-scenes tours, guest speakers, and special seasonal events. Just as important, meetings provide time to connect, socialize, and share stories with others who love the park - often lingering afterward to chat or explore the area together.
In addition to regular monthly programming, ASPHS proudly supports a variety of park programs and special events throughout the year, including the First Day Hike, I Love My Park Day, National Public Lands Day, and the Annual Christmas Party with Santa. From mid-spring through mid-fall, we also partner with the Friends of Allegany State Park to offer historical tours of the Summit Fire Tower and Saw Mill, giving visitors a deeper look into the park’s rich history.
Meeting locations and program details vary by month and are shared in advance on our Schedule page and social media channels (Facebook and Instagram). While membership is not required to attend meetings, becoming a member is a meaningful way to support our mission and help preserve the stories and traditions of Allegany State Park for future generations.
