The Allegany State Park Historical Society's Heritage Scavenger Hunt is a fun and engaging way to discover the rich history of Allegany State Park while exploring some of its most fascinating locations.

Through this self-guided adventure, participants will visit historic sites throughout the park, learn about Allegany's past, and uncover stories that have helped shape the park we know and love today. Whether you're a longtime park enthusiast or visiting for the first time, the Heritage Scavenger Hunt offers a unique opportunity to experience Allegany State Park in a whole new way.

Where Can I Get a Heritage Scavenher Hunt Bag? 

Beginning June 20, Heritage Scavenger Hunt bags will be available at:

• ASPHS Monthly Meetings

• Summit Fire Tower Tours

  • Saturdays | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (weather permitting)

• Red House Sawmill Tours

  • Sundays | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (weather permitting)

A Fun Adventure for All Ages

The Heritage Scavenger Hunt is designed to encourage exploration, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation of Allegany State Park's unique history. Participants may complete the hunt at their own pace throughout the season, making it a perfect activity for individuals, families, and visitors of all ages.
